Meredith received her B.A. from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO in 1992 and her Master’s in Forensic Science from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C. in 1998.

Meredith began her career at the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the Questioned Document Unit in Washington, D.C. Meredith successfully completed a full time two-year training program at the FBI Laboratory and became a certified forensic document examiner in 2001.

Meredith was promoted to Supervisor at the FBI Laboratory before being recruited to work as a consultant with the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP), a part of the U.S. Department of Justice. Meredith has traveled to Kosovo, Tanzania, Mozambique, Paraguay, Mexico, Algeria, and Bangladesh offering training and guidance in all areas of questioned document examinations and quality assurance.

With her commitment as a technical advisor for ICITAP, the Questioned Document Section of the Procuraduria General de la Republica in Mexico City received ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation with ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board in March 2016.

  • Perform forensic examinations on handwriting, signatures, typewriting, printing, and other documentary evidence to establish origin or authenticity.

  • Provide technical knowledge and support to assess the performance of forensic document examiners involving accuracy, precision, and repeatability of decisions involving forensic comparisons of handwritten evidence.

  • Prepared laboratory worksheets, photographed evidence, and conducted indented writing examinations.
  • Successfully completed a full-time training program

Training

Meredith completed a full time two year training program in the Questioned Documents Unit of the FBI Laboratory in Quantico, Virginia. This training included reading relevant books and articles in the field of questioned documents, practical problems, oral board, moot courts, and working over 200 cases under a senior document examiner.

Meredith received certification from the FBI Laboratory in 2001.
